Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to welcome you to the VIII ATOMEXPO-2016 International Forum on both my own behalf and on behalf of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation!

In today’s world, environmentally-friendly nuclear power engineering with a zero-carbon output in Russia should play a significant role in the energy infrastructure of the country in addition to renewable energy sources.

A number of regulatory legal acts have been adopted over the last several years in Russia, forming a foundation for various Russian economic branches to transition to the best available technologies. I am convinced that the nuclear industry will always be spearheading the movement towards these changes. In addition, they have the potential of becoming a driver for the transition of companies to the most advanced, environmentally conscious production management principles available.

The ATOMEXPO-2016 Forum is set to create this foundation for the development of effective information exchanges between state, private and public organizations, and to help scale today’s best green economic practices.

I hope that all of this year’s Forum participants and other attendees find the event both fruitful and interesting!
